Can you cast with them on?

YES. They are designed to not move or fly around while using. Simply install them to your rod tip or whatever else you would like to apply them to with our silicone strap, and you are ready to go!
*NOTE* the battery will also not fling out when casting. Snug as a bug!
Do they work underwater, and what is the grease for?

YES. They are submersible and work underwater. Although it is not necessary, the included bulb grease serves as an option of convenience. It comes with the light and can be used to smear around the outside of the battery and around the pins to create a waterproof barrier, thus preventing accelerated erosion of the pins. This application is mainly used on bobbers, planer boards, and Santee rigs! We have them documented at over 840 hours of constant submersion (35 days) without ever coming up for air. That's REEL tough!
How long do they last?

You can expect an estimated length of 500+ hours of visible light on your first CR2032 battery that comes included. With multiple batteries, your Reel Good Light will last up to 100,000 hours of glow! (the standard lifespan of the LED inside). With proper care, your light can last up to TEN YEARS of fun!
How far away can you see them?

How do I store them when I'm not fishing?

We have designed our lights so that they capture all the light that our bulbs emit and focus that light to compress into the stem. Through careful craftsmanship, we have designed our product to be visible from 1/4 mile away!
*NOTE: Individual experiences may vary due to each person's vision and the amount of light pollution in the surrounding area. Environments that have public street lamps or other buildings, etc., can play a factor in visibility.
Good question! We have always recommended keeping them in a cool, dry place for storage. Silica bead packs that are leftover from items around the house can be useful for keeping moisture away. For battery storage, you can simply place it inside the light backwards; this will prevent the circuit from completion, therefore preventing the battery from draining while not in use. Once you're ready to use them again, simply flip the battery and you are ready to rock n' reel!
